I've got the tact switches already (out of a VCR, thanks!), but I'm kind of hesitant about soldering on the TINY connectors, I'm not exactly "skilled" when it comes to precision soldering. Any tips, etc?

wrap the wire around and solder, or tape if you want

Yeah, kind of twist the wire around the lead, and then add some hot glue if you want. I reccomend solder though.

Tin the wires and leads, then solder to them. It's safer for the equipment since you don't need to have a lot of heat on it at once, and I find it easier because solder likes to melt together with solder.

Sorry to bump, but this is too cool.

I'm thinking about doing this and even asked my math teacher for a broken TI-83 Plus! She gave it to me today, but there's a problem. I took it apart, put it back together and

it works.

So know I don't know what to do!
If I keep it, I can either do the SP mod, or keep it as a calculator!
But if I give it back, I could just give it to her, or rearrange the buttons!

I need advice! I know the RIGHT thing to do would be to give it back, the FUNNY thing to do would be to rearrange the buttons, the COOL thing to do would be to do the GBA mod, and the MATHY thing to do would be to keep the working calculator!

Or I could break it...

Oh, and if I deside to do the GBA mod, can I use the existing switches in it?

Hey, your on Benheck! Do the GBA mod! If she gave it to you then just do the GBA mod. What she doesn't know won't hurt her.

Or just be a good boy and give it back; it's your choice.

and for cheap tact switches they got them in anything with bouttons form the dollar store i recomend the radios they got 3 tacts in them

and are you going to make a guide on how to do that
