try it out for yourself, that's the best way to learn. I tried it with different cap values and a bunch of different resistor values, and all i got was a flash of the LED, and for higher resistor values the LED would stay on and slowly dim until it was off. Have fun

yeah i tried it and just got a flash. how would you get AC from DC? i've never been able to figure that out. if it could alternate slow enough just throw in a diode and it'll blink. or if it alternates fast enough i'll be able to use a transformer to power a little flourescent tube i have laying around
