guess who's back from Japan :).............
Hello everybody, just thought I'd write a quick post telling everyone I'm back and also to tell you all about my adventures in Japan!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually got back around 6:00 EST on Tuesday, but lately I've had a lot of work to catch up on and I've alsobeen pretty jet lagged. Anyway, I first went to Yokohama, went on a couple tours, did the whole tourist thing.....then I went to chinatown and an amusement par. (all of this was in about 3 days) After Yokohama, off to Tokyo!!!!!!! While in Tokyo, we checked out the National Museum, the Imperial Gardens, the Kodokan (the first Judo dojo), and also a certain place called Akihabara............In the Akihabara area, there are tons and tons of electronic stores, where you could find lots of japanese games, systems, and tons and ton of gadgets, including a certain thing called the PSP...................in case you were wondering, yes I did get a PSP, and it's sweet
. The graphics really are PS2 quality, although right now I wouuldn't say they're better. getting pictures and music on it is easy enough, but to get movies on it I nee a program to convert mpeg files into MP4 files, and Ii'm pretty sure there aren't any for free
. Anyway, after I catch up with all the school work I missed while I was gone I'll finally finish the GCp
.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

My friend got a PSP too. Pretty slick stuff. I'm not sure I wanna drop 21000 yen on it at the moment, but it is definitely on my list of things I want.
As for importing, I hear that even here stock is limited, and the USA version will play Japanese games. People lined up outside of Yodobashi Camera in Osaka (one of the bigger electronics shops in the Kansai area) to buy it because they said they'd have such little stock that they weren't taking preorders.
Apparently the PSP can support 720x480 video (despite its lack of that resolution screen). But since this is the first UMD device, apparently video copying stuff hasn't been released yet. But I have a feeling Sony is gonna push this as they did with the MD (saying "Well, you already have CDs... but this is recordable and neat!") I do think the UMD discs look pretty cool, but it still seems like a mistake somehow. Why not DVDs in a caddy?

cause at www.therage.com they are 559 but the conversion is 200?
Yeah Akihabara is wonderful. I go there about once a month. Hey if you wanted to I could have taken you to some great smaller places (I never knew you came to Japan). How did you travel, tourist bus or did you ever ride the train?
Also, what did you think about Akihabara? People in Japan are slowly getting worried that it is becoming Otaku-shi (lit. Obsessed City, refering to the general anime geek). What do you think?
One more thing, (directed to JackFrost) Ebay has the PSP for a great price but just buy it in America, its all really region free (save for media stuff like movies, I think that would be encoded, not sure).
Also, if like I have said earlier, you want something from Japan, I will get it to you (I hate import stores and ebay sometimes, I rather go through friends). Usually easier.
Glad to hear that you had a great time. You do know that Yokohama is like Japans dating capital?
Wow, someone else went to Japan. I am excited for some reason (not sure why).

When in Japan with access to just about every system ever made and those that have yet to see international soil, gather your forces, and make the cool ones your own.
