Powering of the mains

well i want to run the n64 off a psone wall adapter. is this possible? if so how? i have no clue how to make these run off wall power.

First of all, you'll need a DC-DC converter (a regulator won't work because the current draw is more than the adapter can handle) to power the 3.3v line. Then all you need to do is tie the converter's inputs to the 12v lines and connect that to the PSone screen adapter. Basically, you need to wire it up as if you were going to power it off batteries, then just connect the adapter in place of the batteries.

yes im aware of the dc-dc converter. it's on its way right now but is it possible to have a diagram because i have no clue what wires go where.

It would help to know what DC-DC converter you have. Beyond that, there's usually a power in, ground and, power out. Connect the input power to power in, then connect power out and ground to your load. There's usually a few capacitors needed then, but that varies too.

I'll make a wiring diagram, but you should really just check a power diagram for an N64p.

Just looked up the datasheet for the TI DC-DC. You need a 100 uF (ok, it's a U, but the "micro" symbol doesn't show up online) electrolytic cap across the output. Positive lead goes to Vout, negative to ground. Optionally, you can put a 1pF ceramic cap across the inputs too.

but i thought you only need the 100 uf capacitor and not the 1uf ceramic capacitor. am i wrong?
