Ok so an update...

I am almost done with the slot relocation. It's been quite a hell trying to get the joints just right, but i only have two wires left tommorrow to solder in (it'll take me less than 10 minutes, with my girlfriend as an audience...). After that, I will test; i have a feeling however it will not work because i am quite a skeptic of even my own work.

Anyways, if the relocation turns out a success, i will post photos of it running tommorrow. If not, i will probably have a tantrum in front of my girlfriend (involving razor blades and crying in a corner).

If it is a success, i can start the power wiring for the entire unit (including the screen mod).

MAJOR UPDATE!!!

The cart slot relocation was a complete success! It took roughly 20 hours to relocate it (it was my first time, plus i had multiple traces come out...). I tested all my games, such as Starfox64, Perfect Dark, and Goldeneye; all of them worked flawlessly. I could not run them for that long, however, because i haven't put heatsinks on the main chips yet. I am going to cover the traces on the board with a hot glue gun as well as those on the cart slot pins so they don't come out and/or short.

Phase II of this build will be to get it running off of battery power. I am going to charge my battery today while i make the nessecary connections on the board.

In a few minutes, I will post a picture of my DC-DC converter to see if it is correctly wired. Needless to say, i have worked too hard to see my board short, fissle, or explode due to faulty wiring.
