Can someone please verify that what i'm doing is correct

Ok can someone please verify these steps:

1.) I ripped off the extention port from the bottom of the mobo, and ripped out all the pins (there is still solder in the holes)

2.) I took off the Cart Port and reconnected it with the cable. A male on one end and female on the other end. And then I soldered the male end onto the mobo.

That should be fine, right? I was just concerned that leaving the solder in the holes from where the extension port was would give me problems. But its ok to leave the solder there?

just wondering but how do you 'rip' off the extention port thing? I want to save space and maybe keep the solder on.

Its as simple as it sounds.....take a pair of pliers and "rip" it off

after you take of the cartridge port you just take a pair of pliers and rip off the extention port on the bottom? (just making sure)

correct
