God of War 2 a PSTWO?? title?

I just read this on Gamespy. It doesn't come out for another year, but it's a PS2 title!

That's hard to believe... Maybe the PS3 IS gonna be expensive so they're putting their "big gun" titles on the PS2 for a while for sure-fire sales.

So there goes 50% of my reason to get one.

On this note, maybe Zelda WILL be a Gamecube title after all! Nah, I'm still sticking to my original guess on that.

Seems Sony is doing what they did with the Playstation and PS2, they still ran PSone games ever though the PS2 was out. I think it's more important now then ever. With the PS3 having a price tag of $800+ I don't think too many people are going to run out and buy that. So having God of War II on the PS2 will insure a stream of cash coming into SCEA so they can get the PS3 ball rolling.

Do you honestly believe that PS3 will run 800+? I don't see that as very plausable, or even remotely possible. It is more likely that Sony will continue to process the PS3 hardware until they can achieve a more reasonable price, like 400-500.

Otherwise they'd be burying themselves

Even sony arent stupid enough to release it 800+

I think if they were to release it now it would go for 800 but thats why they're waiting so they can sell it cheaper once the price of 360's has gone down too

$800 is about Â£450-Â£500 sterling

at my age thats nearly 6 months wages provided i dont spend anything or go out or do anything

I really do doubt they will retail it for 800+, if they do they're just shooting themselves in the foot

Hey we already know Sony makes great products, but they also have the wost business sences. Keep in mind that it's very believed that the PS3 will be sold not just as a video game console, but as a whole Media Center. Hell it's going to have 2 ethernet ports and have Linux preinstalled on the hard drive (if you get that model). If a standard console (ie. Xbox, PS2, 360) go for $300, then really about $500 for a computer added isn't too bad.

Now lets try and keep this on topic about the new God of War game being released on the PS2.

Incorrect. They're waiting so they don't pull a 360 and fail to supply the demand.

fact is that most videogame companies release their hardware at a price that they actually lose money..except the gamecube's release

They then compensate this with game sales...

But they said the Blu-Ray tech would not be cheap

But $800 is a death wish and SONY knows that
