Supposedly, I didn't look into it much but if you want something to last a long time stick two of those on an SLI compatible motherboard.

There is no way to gauge what is the "best" graphics card available. Sure, you could judge them by clock speed and memory, but what about drivers and such?
The question isn't what card is the fastest or greatest, but what graphics card will suit my needs or do what I need it to do.
Use this mindset and you'll find things a great deal more sensible.
So to start off, what are you needing in a graphics card? What will you be using it for? How long do you expect to be using it? That's what we need to know.

They're both good brands. I've owned both and found they all have their flaws and strengths. I got an ATI 9600 card to replace my broken Geforce 4200 (overheated due to a dust clogged fan) and it works great. The only reason I got an ATI was because there was a special, it would work for my games, and reviews were good. I looked at comparable Nvidia cards and they sounded about the same, but were not having a special so...
Yeah, that's an insane price. But one reviewer said, "This card is the most powerful workstation graphics card in existance. This thing renders so many polygons so fast... However, it really sucks for games, but this was never its intended use anyway."daguuy wrote:this one's probably beyond your price range, but here's the best one i could find
