Well, this sucks!

Now not only does my AUDIO not work, but the whole system stopped working! It was working fine last night, and then something super weird happened. I was putting in screws to mount the screen, and the 10 ohm watt resistor on the LED mod started smoking! At first, I thought it was because the power wires were touching it, so I electrical taped the power wires up and installed a new resistor... it did the same thing. It even melted the hot glue! I have no clue what's going on. Any thoughts?

he already replaced the ressitor. maybe you're using the wrong resistor.

try using 2 10 ohm resistors in a row, see if that doesnt smoke, thats how i have mine

Okay, I'll try that. My main question, though, is since that resistor blew and there was unregulated power going to the LEDs for a short period of time (a few seconds) are the LEDs fried?

the only times ive fried LEDs i suplied 5v too much and it still took 8 secs to fry

Wait;

How much watts are you throwing into that resistor?

I doubt it, but you might be burning out the resistor if it's 1/8W or maybe even 1/4W.

You can tell by size:

From top to bottom: 1/8Watt, 1/4Watt, 1/2Watt.

Those are the most common sizes, but they go up to 4W.

I fixed it! Just doubled up on the resistors. Still gets a little warmer than usual, but I really could care less. Now I have a new problem. I wired the positive and negative power terminals to the battery on the front of the PSOne screen, but they keep coming out every now and then. Would it be okay to put a dab of hot glue on them to keep them from moving?

yes hotglue is fine for electronics most people use it all the time to secure connections
