I'm making a NESp, I have a lot of choices.

1. Sony PS1 LCD or Intec Power Play PS1 Screen
2. Yobo NES or Real NES
3. Real NES controller, Yobo NES controller, Weird 6 button NES controller
4. 9.6v NI-CD battery, Rechargeable AAs, 9.6 NI-MH battery, Sony Infolith.
5. Ben's Case, Radioshack Project box with decals and paint,
Project Box left plain
6. LED Screen Mod or original backlight
7. Stereo Mod or Mono
8. AV Out, No AV out
9. Remove Lockout Chip, Keep Lockout Chip
10. player 2 port, No Player 2 port
11. Headphone Jack, No headphone Jack
12. Cart. Sticks out top, Cart. slides down back

I thought you guys should get the joy of designing my NESp!
Post any color schemes also.

1 ) Sony LCD screen. It's just better.
2 ) Yobo NES, unless you're playing some powerful games (Castlevania 3, Kirby) or rare games (Codemasters/Tengen/etc.)
3 ) Doesn't matter. Whatever fits in your case design. It's up to you to make sure the tactile feel is correct at the end.
4 and 5) Up to you.
6 ) Depends on if you can do it.
7 ) Depends on if you use a real NES board.
8 ) AV out would require a switch for most NOACs.
9 ) Depends on if you use a real NES board. Remove it if so.
10 and 11) Up to you.
12 ) I'd recommend the back slide for stability. NES games wobbling causes crashes.

2. Yobo NES, the most 1337est noac ever
3. Yobo NES controller, has the button letters engraved, saving you decals. Also has turbo
4. Sony Infolith, no memory effect, but 9.6 Ni-Mh as secondary if you can't afford it
5. This is really your choice on comfort
6. LED mod if at all possible, but 4 leds.
7. Stereo Mod
8. AV Out, it allows bigger tvage if at home
9. If you go with real NES, disable it but don't remove it lest it won't work, however the yobo has no lockout chip
10. I suggest player one and player two ports in case you shake the portable around too much for the second player to see and you both use controllers
11. depends on whether you want others to hear or not
12. Slides down back, it just makes for a smaller design

I think there probably are better actual NOACs (I think the Yobo does have some minor compatibility issues). But it's pretty good, and saves a lot of work.

7. Stereo Mod

Does this work on anything but a real NES? I don't think so (there's nowhere to split the channels out)...

9. If you go with real NES, disable it but don't remove it lest it won't work, however the yobo has no lockout chip

Good call. Yeah, don't remove it, but ground it.

4. neither use the 7.2 volt ni-mh batt from rat shack it will give better battery life.
