I finished my portable, and thought some of you might want to see it.

This probably won't be the final case, since I like what G-Force did for his, and so I plan to do that over the summer.

Since I plan to make a new case, I didn't bother drilling holes for the A/V jacks that are hooked up, so they're just sitting inside the case. I also didn't bother with buttons for the brightness and volume for the screen, since I have it set the way I like it already. I also ditched my attempt to relocate the cartridge slot, since this way was just easier to build a case for (although I already have another cartridge port wired up for relocation, it would have been tough to get it to work with this case). You can probably see that I intended to put the controller slots in, due to the four holes in the metal at the bottom, but I had to take them out, since I ran out of room.

I don't know the full battery life of the unit yet.

i like the clear front also, it shows off the guts

Could I know the functions of the 2 switches on the bottom?
To shut off the PSone Screen\N64 possibly?

Do you mean on the bottom of the front side or the ones on the back side? For the front, there's only one switch (so you can see why I'm a bit confused by your question): the one in the corner turns off the screen (although serves little purpose now, since I can't get to the A/V jacks). The thing in the middle is the headphone jack.

As for the back, each switch is connected to a single battery pack, since these batteries don't charge well in parallel with my charger (which uses negative delta V detection to know when the batteries are fully charged). It's also convenient for charging up one battery while playing off of the other one, since I didn't include a wall adapter jack.

That looks really nice. You should leave it in that case and if not at least make the next one clear also. I like the ability to charge one battery pack at a time so that you can still play. How long did it take to make? I hope mine turns out half as good as yours. Great job.

not bad at all man! i tried an acrylic case once, didnt turnout well at all, too mulky for my tastes but good job

Good job! It looks pretty thin by what I can see. I see you've spliced the battery connectors so you can charge them seperately.

The dimensions of the system are 11" x 6 1/2" x 2", so it's a little bit thicker than what I'm used to. I wish I could have made it thinner on the sides, since I had some space to work with, but that would have been ridiculously difficult to create with this type of case in mind.

It took me two weeks to get the system and screen working off of the batteries, a week to make the case, and about two months to set the controller into the case and get it all working at once. >_> I had one controller board go bad (the joystick response didn't work right), and had another that first had the A button misfiring, then the Z button misfiring, both of which did so without having any connections shorts. The Z and R buttons were tough to set up, since the buttons are on the back plate, but the button boards are connected to the side walls. The heat sink for my regulator wasn't big enough, so I had to make another one. I would have had it done quicker, since during those last two months I was at school, and so I didn't have any shop tools and couldn't get a lot done. Luckily, I had mid-term break least week, and I finished it up pretty quickly.

Wow! This is the best clear-case-crap-case I've seen!
