could you (kind of) create a Sega CDX portable w/o one?

i dont have a CDX and dont want to fork over the money, but could i buy a sega CD and make a CDX portable with my genesis together forever?

Well, it wouldn't be the same small size the CDX is, but I don't see why not. It'd also probably take quite a bit more power (more batteries, etc.)

You could do it that way, but it would suck up way too much juice for it to be practical.
