LM317T for 3.3V

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

LM317T for 3.3V

I bought the LM317T for the 3.3V. What resistor do i need for it? Do i need anything else? If someone had a picture i'd really appreciate it.
By the way, i bought it at RadioShack for about 2.50. Just saying.

How big is your battery going to be? In amperage?

If it's over 1.5 Amps, render that LM317T useless.

battery capacity doesn't matter. the 1.5A rating means it can only output up to 1.5A of current, and since that's the most amperage N64s use, it'll be fine.

check the sticky for a calculator on what resistor values to use.

Oh, thanks for clearing that up for me. I thought it relied on the amount of battery amperage.

Just for other people who need to know, i found it. Its 200 ohm resistor for R1, and 330 ohm for R2, which will get you 3.31V.

I'm looking up the resistors on RadioShack now, and theyve got 330 ohm at 1/4W, and 1/2W. Which one?
They also don't have 200 ohm......or did the page i saw mean 220?

also, should i use flux when soldering?

Flux is always good, but isn't needed.

I like 1/2W resistors. They're a bit easier to handle, and in the long run don't over heat as much.

In electronics, if values sustain between 5-10% of the original value, then you'll probably be ok.

So you can probably go anywhere from 180 ohm-220 ohm as a precaution.

A 330 ohm and a 220 ohm should be ok.
