yay! I finished my n64p...only one problem

Ok, so I finished my n64p...well sort of...everything but the controller and the case are there...but my main problem is that video doesnt work, I get a bright white screen whenever I turn on my n64, when I put in a game, it just remains bright white, and flashes upon turning on. I have checked all my cables they are...."ok" and I have also done the thing in daguuys guide with the 5v thing....no work. What could it be? The screen turns on, backlight works....just no video...

And before you ask, yes, I used a multimeter anc checked all the power and such, all adds up perfectly, 3.3, 7.2-8, its all fine.

And on a side note, for the controller, do I hook up the 3 wires with the console facing down (control slots facing me) or up (control slots facing away)?

I don't know... but when i bought myscreen all i got was white. I have a different screen but there was something on the back of the board for the screen that came loose..........doubt it'll help

sounds confusing as hell but i can't remember

Check to see if your inputs are wired correctly (wired to the right places, no shorts. etc) If all that is fine, then you could have messed up your N64. I wouldnt jump to any conclusions about that though becuase it's most likely just a simple problem. I would check the audio and video inputs to the screen, whether your using the plug, or wiring straight to the board, and make sure nothing is shorted. Look closely because sometimes very small bits of solder or wire touch things together and are easily overlooked. Also, do you get any audio coming from it?

No, I just get a white bright screen, no video or sound. Everything runs though, the fan, the n64 etc etc.

Well what i did was turn the screen on and i just started pushing lightly on things on the back and eventually white turned to video.

I could be wrong(I don't know much about N64s),but it sounds like a blinking nintendo problem.Try cleaning you cartridge slot.

oh man i hate white screens. that's the exact same problemi have right now that's preventing me from finishing mine. it's not the N64 that's the problem, it's the screen. when i turn mine on, the LEDs light up but other than that it seems dead. there's a surface-mounted LED on the screen PCB somewhere that's supposed to light up but doesn't, i think the screen's dead.

How can the screen be dead if it powers on and everything but video is working? that doesnt make sense
