cleaning age stained plastic

You know that old yellow color beige hardware turns over time?

is there anyway to clean it off?

ive just bought a lovely macintosh se, but its quite yellowed. id love to get it nice and shiny again, but i dont see painting over it as a viable option.

What I usually do when I have discolored cases is repaint them with my own color scheme.

Repaint it. The yellowing can't be cleaned off because it's caused by the plastic itself reacting with ultraviolet light. (Believe me, I've tried with my SE/30. It's no use trying to clean it off)

The best thing to do is either live with it (:() or repaint it (8))

yeh, im beginnging to think a repaint would actually be a better idea. im not sure what color though, somthing bright i think. ive got to keep that little apple logo intact which will need some masking skills. the danger aspect of the screens caps scare me slightly though.

i bought my se on the assumption that there would be loads of info on the net about them, but ive found supprisingly little to be honest.

at the moment i dont even have mine running as im still trying to work out how to make a boot disk. transmac is confusing and keeps giving me problems.

the fan is horrendously noisy. when i get it running im going to replace it. im guessing that a standard 12v CPU fan will do the job.

i dont really have anymore money im afriad. i bought my se with keyboard and mouse for Â£10. which happens to be my last Â£10 before i leave uni

but at least i ahve a mac!

im having a bit of trouble creating the boot disk

im using the following guide: http://macfaq.org/software/macos.shtml#Q1.1.6

the problem is that when i type the location of my image DOS throws up an error saying: " is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file"

i dont know much about dos, so im not really sure if theres a problem, or im missing somthign very obvious.

You need to execute RAWRITE then put in image.img.
