Hey, about my portable computer projects...
I thought of the ULTIMATE idea! I can make an cool laptop case (with some kind of machine), and make a motherboard in Adobe Illustrator, and get a c64-on-a-chip! I could also have the actual C64 keys on it!!!! However, what's a good inexpensive machine to make casings? I'd like to know. I also thought of the same idea for my Amiga laptop project. If Ben knows a good source of Atari computer parts online, I'd do that project too; same idea. With my portable PC project, I'd get a barebones PC like the one shown in this month's Maximum PC magazine. That'll have to wait until I get more info. Although if the guy who's doing a PC-p could give us lowly peeps a how-to, I might do that instead. It'd be cheaper that way.

Well gannonbanned, being the new user you are I'll explain about Cennar:
Cennar was/is a great portabalizer, but he was high on weed or whatever half the time. i'd love to give a better explanation but i've got things to do, check the memberlist for his name

I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...
Wow, two horrible statements in one.ganonbanned wrote:*laughs at username* hehe... BJ
who is cennar?
To emphasize, cennar was a high-bird.
Always advertizing how he though marijuana should be legalized; "sponsered by cenner.tk."
Around when you joined, he left.
We all loved and loathed him.
Cennar was the only one who could get away with bad grammer, spelling, making no sense, and calling people n00bs and assjacks, as he once stated.

Like Chef said to the the dance group "You have the heart and the soul, but you don't have the talant." Before you go and do any remodeling of the PCB of a computer, you have to map out the current PCB. Though on top of that I haven't heard of them selling just the Commodore chips, and someone is currently working on condencing the Amiga to a size box that will fit in your 3 1/2" bay.
Now if you really want a Commodore laptop there is an easier way. Buy a C64 DTV 2.0, you can add a cart slot to it. Like the first one you can add a disk drive and keyboard to it very easily. Much faster, cheaper and easier then desiging a PCB. Oh and the C64 DTV 2.0 has 2MB ram so you're not going to have a problem running games/programs/BASIC code.

Several of us have tried making PCp's. I've tried three times to make one, and that one annoying guy who was banned a while ago tried umpteen times. Various ideas for PCp's get anywhere from the pre-planning stage to actually buying parts, but only Tom61 has managed to nearly finish one.if the guy who's doing a PC-p could give us lowly peeps a how-to, I might do that instead
What would you use your PCp for, if you don't mind me asking?
