But I'm right: when doing the original problem 1+2 is the EXACT SAME as 2+1, so you don't need to add it into the mix.geekbait111 wrote:I'm just trying to prove I'm right!Which Nicholai obviously doesn't get, so meow to him! And ya, we are kinda fighting over a problem that harshboy probably answered so it doesn't really matter...

just trying to prove nicholai wrong, because I'm pretty sure he is
.
anyway, there are two dice, meaning there IS a 1+2 and 2+1 combination. it's not like you're rolling one dice twice, you're rolling two dies at once

Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

RRR... you know I'm just to annoyed to listen to my post about saftey. So LOOK AT MY LATER CHART IT DOESN'T EVEN SAY 2+1 AND 1+2!!! ONLY 1+2, 1+3 1+4 1+5 1+6 2+2 2+3 ETC... JUST LISTEN TO ME, I'M NOT LYING!!!!!!! Alright angry/fusterated time over, Happy time now
. Alright I forgive you Nich... you are wrong but it's ok.

um, no....as someone mentioned earlier, harshboy probably misread the problem or there was a typo or something. There had to have been SOME values or something to get even and odd numbers...since that answer matches the problem harsh said exactly, except for the dice, it's logical to believe they are the same.
also, it was a PSSA problem, as harsh said...the answer key is for...a PSSA problem...

You don't use a chart if the six values aren't given (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) but I'll play your game. X=odds, Y=evens.geekbait111 wrote:RRR... you know I'm just to annoyed to listen to my post about saftey. So LOOK AT MY LATER CHART IT DOESN'T EVEN SAY 2+1 AND 1+2!!! PLAN A:
X+Y=odd (proven: 3+4=7, 5+6=11)
X+X=even (proven: 3+3=6, 5+7=12)
Y+Y=even (proven: 4+6=10, 6+8=14) SO 2/3 CHANCE FOR PIZZA
WE DON'T ADD Y+X IT'S THE SAME THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLAN B:
X*X=odd (3*3=9, 5*5=25)
Y*Y=even (4*4=16, 6*6=36)
X*Y=even (3*4=12, 5*4=20) SO 2/3 CHANCE FOR PIZZA
WE DON'T ADD Y*X IT'S THE SAME THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just look at the answer key and you'll get it...I know Y+X is the same as X+Y, and X*Y is the same as Y*X, but you must remember that when there are two dice, it can be possible to have a 1 and a 2 or a 2 and a 1.
possible combinations -> 1,1 1,2 1,3 1,4 1,5 1,6
2,1 3,1 4,1 5,1 6,1
2,2 2,3 2,4 2,5 2,6
3,2 4,2 5,2 6,2
get it?

2,2 2,3 2,4 2,5 2,6

RRRRRRRR!!!! JUST ADMIT YOU ARE WRONG LOOK AT MY CHART, IT FOLLOWS THE NO DICE THING, IT FOLLOWS THE NO 1+2 and 2+1 THING!!!! JUST CONTINUE THE PATTERN
Plan A x=yay y=nope
8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
1 x y x y x y x y
2 x y x y x y x
3 x y x y x y
4 x y x y x
5 x y x y
6 x y x
7 x y
8 y
Plan B x=yay y=nope
8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
1 y x y x y x y x
2 x x x x x x x
3 y x y x y x
4 x x x x x
5 y x y x
6 x x x
7 y x
8 x
GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEAD, WE ARE RIGHT
P.S the chart is a little off, pretend the 8 is one space to the right or whatever
P.S.S oh yeah, gamevelver i right X+Y = Y+X the communitive property of addition
. So you lost at yourr own game 1+2=2+1 remember???
HAH you're wrong (unless you make ANOTHER lame excuse)

I know that. But when there ISN'T two dice and it's just two random numbers, one odd and one even than what?Gamelver wrote:just look at the answer key and you'll get it...I know Y+X is the same as X+Y, and X*Y is the same as Y*X, but you must remember that when there are two dice, it can be possible to have a 1 and a 2 or a 2 and a 1.

Exactly, read the first post, the problem suggests two random numbers. There is no dice to determine it, it's slighty different from the one in the answer key thing.Gamelver wrote:if it's just two random numbers then sure, you're right.
but that doesn't pertain to this problem, and I just wanted to let you know that.
