I read daguuy's guide explaining how I would set up the wiring for my portable; however, I am confused as to how I would wire a wall power input into the unit. Is there any guide to explain how to do this?

Actually, on the battery/wall switch, I just hooked up the positive lines.

So if those were the pins on the switch, I hooked the wall power to 1 and 4, hooked the battery power to 3 and 6 and then hooked the n64/screen/everythingelse to 2 and 5. Its easier this way if you aren't very good at soldering + and - wires that close together. I just did mine this way so I didnt have so many ground wires that werent needed.

or you can just put a diode on the positive terminal of the battery before the regulator and put another diode from the wall input (assuming it's a DC input) to the input of the regulator. When you plug in the wall power, you can unplug the battery and nothing will be interrupted. Use schottky diodes if you can, you'll get better battery life because there will be a lower voltage drop over the schottky diode as opposed to a silicon diode and your regulator will take longer to drop out.
