Just finished my first PSone screen!

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Just finished my first PSone screen!

You guys will probably think I'm lame for posting this... but I finished my first PSone screen mod! I added some electrical tape around the LEDs so the neg leads don't touch the pos leads in the case.... is this a bad idea because now that I think about it the screen gets pretty hot and it might melt... youguys ever done this? Oh yah and I know this doesn't go here, but would you guys say I have to put a heatsink on the 7805 regulator that I soldered to the NES mobo? One chapter in the book shows a regulator with a heatsink and the other doesn't have one.

I just replaced the standard bulb with the 3 leds... I didn't do the other stuff in the book to make it brighter, I think its bright enough right now but I'll know for sure once I get mario hooked up. 8)

gamefreak, just snip it off. I've done this mod about 5 times and that's what I've done every time.

You bypass some do-hickey with a little piece of wire that puts more juice into the screen.

bottom of this page. you need it, it makes it about 3X as bright. just put a dab of solder that touches both ends of the cap, you don't need wire or anything like that
