Third-Party Makers?
With the Next-Gen area coming around the corner, would Intec or Hipgear and other 3rd Party people be on the run for their money, seeing the tech. now being advancing very far and being almost impossible to emulate otherwise. So, discuss.

I think it'll definitely be very hard for 3rd parties to create controllers for the Revolution, seeing as how its so unique and not traditional. However, they'll still continue to produce random products for the next-gen consoles, from face plates for the Xbox to controller shells for the revolution. I doubt that 3rd party accessory makers will bite the dust.

I don't see a death so much as a termanaly ill person. They will still relese randome things like stands and faceplates and other junk, but I can say now because everything is going wireless it will take them a longer time to get a controler into production. I can see in about 10 years when we have had a few more systems where things are so complicated that it's almost imposible to backwards enginere a conttroller.
I thought Hip Gear was a part of Intec or Interact. As for third party, Pelican already has a controller for the Xbox360. As for all the other systems, there really isn't any reason to think their are going to be any changes from how they worked in the past.
If anything I'm courious how Action Replay or Gameshark will turn out. If systems work like the Xbox then really there will only be game saves, I kind of miss the Uber cheats that you can use in games on the PSone and Dreamcast.

I am a geek.
What I was thinking of is when things get to complicated to be reversed enginered, when components cost too much to logicly reproduce.
For example, on show at CES was a mind reading cap that allows you to play Pong and type simple sentances with your mind. The thing has over 200 sensors that map the responces your brain makes when you think about a certine thing and converts it to a button press. For example, in Pong thinking about moving up made the sensors see one part of your brain light up and when you thought about moving down it showed something else. Now these sensors were really expensive, somewhere around $500 for all of them for one cap. Now granted prices wil go down but I can't see it being very cheep or posible to make 3rd party ones.
