Nope, the best you'd get is extremely distorted video and sound, if it boots at all. You need ast least 3.2v for it to work decently.

well, 3V works, but as marshall said, you get distorted video/sound....lines on the screen and a little static noise
.
it definitely boots, but just get a 3.3V converter or regulator. they're much better
...
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

The only ones i can find are on ebay, and they are
all 3.0v lines and 4.5v lines
Is the 4.5v line too much?

yes, 4.5V is too much...check the "free DC-DC converters" thread or use an LM317 adjustable regulator to get 3.3V. check the sticky to find out how to get 3.3V from the LM317
.

I don't think they actually output 3.0V. Every one I have checked has been about 3.2V-3.4V. Dosn't much matter though, since the free converters mentioned work much better (and are free).

I know, I've checked them out, and I've just got to ask my mum about it ... if that's a good idea
