Powering SNES off of TV

I just recently aqquired a SNES mini and I want to power it off the 5 volts that I use for the screen itself. How do I power the SNES mini with the red and positive leads off of the batteries?

Desolder the 7805 regulator on the SNES board and then wire the pos 5 volts to, I believe it is the first hole on the left(with the snes controller ports facing you). Wait for someone else to confirm that for me before doing anything as I'm not 100% sure it the left hole.

Yes it is the left one. And for actually getting the 5v from the screen, just input the 7.2 volts into the spot on the screen and then solder a wire to the 5v out of one of the regulators on the screen.

This might not be a good idea. That's only a 1 amp regulator that the PSone screen uses... I don't know how much the screen or the SNES take separately, but I'm sure they take more than an amp combined. I would just wire the battery to the screen's regulator and the SNES's regulator. As long as your battery puts out 7.2 volts or more, it can power both regulators.

No it works just fine, trust me, I have my SNESp running in this exact configuration. Ben also uses it for his SNESp in his book.

And it's not being overloaded? Weird... well, I trust you, then. But it still seems like it would be overloading the reg to me.
