My psone screen (sony brand) has this anoying fuzzy black line on the left side of the screen (see pic). It only happens when I have it hooked up to my Snes mini. I think it's some kind of interference between the screen and the speakers because when the batteries get low, the bbft (big black fuzzy thing) get's worse, but only when the game makes a sound. But the bbft is still there when I unplug the speakers, it just isn't so bad. Now, when I tested the resistance between the video and the audio, it was like .605 on the setting that looks like an arrow pointing to the right. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I just thought I'de add it. And I have the A/V and A/V ground wires soldered to the correct pins on the screen( I ruined the video solder point on the back of the screen's mother board, so I have to use the pins). I think that's all the info I can give. If anybody that reads this needs more info, just say and I'll do what I can, I just really want this fixed, it's very annoying.
EDIT: It accually only happens when a game is in the game slot (and the system is on of coarse).
what kind of battery are you using? and whats the voltage?
maybe you cracked the lcd? i think this happened to me before and it was a cracked lcd but i also remembering it happening to my first portable and i think i had a bridge on the board, look around for any bridges on your mobo.
I'm using 6 Ni-MH AA type Energizer 1.2v batterys. I think that makes about ~7.2v (more like ~8.5). I have plugged and re-plugged the ribbon wire many times. I'll check though. And by bridge, do you mean like a wire touching somthing it shouldn't? And what's a mobo? And I'm pretty sure it's not a cracked screen, because the bbft only appears when a game is on, not every time I turn the screen on.
If the LED wasn't diffused properly the corner would just be dimmer. You said it only does it when you have it hooked up to the SNES mini, so is it safe to assume that you've tried the screen with something else?
It only happens when a game is inserted (see my first edit). I doesn't, however, happen when there is no game inserted. Which accually leads me to think that maybe it's the Snes mini, not the PSOne screen. Does anyone have a list of resistances for the connections between the Snes mini mobo, and the PSOnes screen mobo?
The easiest way to check whether or not it's the SNES mini that's causing the problem is to just solder an RCA jack onto the screen and plug in a different video source. What do you mean by resistances between the screen and the SNES? Resistances between video to video and ground to ground, or resistance between video and ground?
There's bound to be some connection between them somewhere on the board. As long as the resistance is fairly high (100K+ ohms) then it shouldn't be a problem. If the resistance is really low, then you should be looking for a short somewhere on the board.
They're all above 600k ohms. So I guess it's not resistance .

I re-soldered m the A/C port, and the DC input, and it works great. I just don't understand! I also opened the screen assembly up again and cleaned EVERYTHING! It must be a connection thing. What kind of wire should I be using? I'm using IDE cable right now.
