tact switch question!

i know its pretty shocking coming from me but i need to know what the deal is, both the times i tried to use em in portables they was actin funky or not working hardly at all, is there some certian way to hook them up so they work proper like? i had problems major with my snesP and psoneP i though was problems with the controller board but im not so sure.

Are you hooking them up using two diagonal points?

that how they are supposed to go, im pretty sure that how i had it but i still had problems
