I just got a movie called that. Apperintly a group took the whole movie the Matrix and re-encoded it into text. It's... very geeky watching the movie made of ASCII letters and in only two colors (green and black).

This is the website. And the version I have is on DVD. I just though everyone, or most people here could really appropriate something like this.
What do you guys think? It's a big improvement over the first 20 minutes of Star Wars in ASCII.

The quality is a mix of good and bad, depending on the frame. You get good very recoginizible images when there is light and a big image (like Neo's head). It's kind of bad if there is a lack of light and the people of objects are further away.
The whole thing isn't ment to be picture perfect, just either prove it's possible, make a joke out of the whole Matrix idea (the numbers and such) or "what-the-hell" consept. Either one works for me cause I just think watching it in ASCII is cool.

I downloaded a VOB DVD format off a torrent. Burned it and throw it in the DVD player to see what it looks like.

I remember seeing a program to convert an image to ASCII... what was it... JavE that's what it was. It's a pretty cool little app. I guess with a little magic you could make it batch convert every frame of a movie. Pretty cool.
