Help with batteries.

Post by Sir Games-A-Lot »

Hi all,

I am sorry to repost this but I had made a thread today in the ps2/gcn/xbox forum about running my GCN off of batteries and despite the help I am still confused and I think I may not have been very clear about what I wanted to do.

The project it's for aside here is my theoretical scenario:

I wish to power my Gamecube with this battery:

http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?P ... rodID=2069

As you can see it is rated at 12V and its capacity is 12Ah.

If I use this in place of the Gamecube's AC-DC adapter per Harshboy's diagram:

will my GNC be OK? Its AC-DC adapter is rated "12v DC 3.25 Amps"

I know this is F42 but this is more of a general battery question than a game cube question.

yes, infact it will last a while, if you have a battery rated at the power of the console, (in mah) then it will last an hour.

so an 1amp cansole with 100mah battery=exactly 1hr

1a console with 400mah=4hrs, getit?

Sorry, but I believe you missed a decimal, paul.

1000 ma = 1 amp

so a game that takes 1 amp on a 100mah battery will last all of 6 minutes, give or take.

1 amp load on a 1000 mah battery lasts one hour.

Exactly so if he uses that bat. with an unmodded cube he would get 4 hours give or take 30min but with the cube set up right 6 hours...
