Linux Live CD wont boot

You mean there's nothing relating to boot order anywhere?! What kind of BIOS is that?!

Try the Smart Boot Manager floppy; it works pretty well. I use it when I want to boot from CDs on strange PCs that I don't want to tinker with the BIOS on. Just download the disk image and use RAWRITE2 to write it to a floppy.

As long as you burned the disc as an image, not dragging the file onto the CD, you'll be fine.

Here is some info on setting up your BIOS on HP's site.

You must not have been looking in the clearly labled "Boot" section.

Unless there is some one with the same name, I see you signed up over at linuxquestions.org. That is a great start, plenty of really knowledgeable and helpful people over there. I lurk around over there from time to time, I don't answer many questions though. Most of my questions have been answered by searching.
