Is this possible?

Post by Jeff »

I have some songs with zero ID3 encoding, but are full albums. Is there anyway to burn them to an Audio ISO then rip them?

I want my info and artwork for my beatles albums :(.

Just so I can be sure that I understand what you're saying I'm going to repeat it here, so if what I say is wrong, correct me.

You have some songs that don't have any ID3 tags, you want to give them ID3 tags and want to know if it's possible to burn them to an audio CD, then rip them again to give them the ID3 tags. Correct?

Are they MP3 files or are they some other music format?

I suppose you could burn them to a CD and re-rip them, but you'll lose some quality of the music. It seems like you'd be better off just trying to fix the ID3 tags some other way.

Unless, of course, they aren't MP3 files, but are in some other format. Then I guess I'd try converting them to MP3 if that's what you really want.

As far as I know, these programs find their ID3 tags based on the track lengths for all the songs. As long as you have the exact albums, with the exact times, (nothing recorded from the radio or anything funky) you should be fine.

I'll be honest with you - I would have never guessed that.

okay let me try and figure this out

you have mp3s without ID3 tags. some of these mp3s are full albums

for example:

The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour.mp3

are you wanting it so when you open it up with a mp3 player (or whatever) it displays the ID3 information?

if that is the case, then I suggest getting a program which allows you to edit the ID3 information of the mp3 files

look in this direction for help finding the program

http://www.download.com/

or another example:

01 - The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour
02 - The Beatles - Fool on the Hill
03 - The Beatles - Flying
Track 4
05 - The Beatles - Your Mother Should Know
Track 6

if this is the case, do the same thing as above, but modify the tracks that do not have tags.

anoooootthhherr example:

Track 1
Track 2
Track 3
Track 4

if this is the case, you'll have to edit them all, and if you do not know the track listing for each album

then look here

http://www.gracenote.com/music/

or here

http://www.freedb.org/

if any of these methods dont seem to help you out, please give more information on what you are trying to accomplish

good luck!

well i know in iTunes, you can bulk edit the songs, so all songs have the same artist, album, etc. in one edit. I would only imagine that you could bulk edit files in a ID3 editor.

and trust me, this operation is easier than editing the filenames individually >_<
