Super Duper secret Portable not Working

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Super Duper secret Portable not Working

Post by demonofaj »

Guys, I'm stumped about this one.

Hmmm, I soldered Video to Video.
I soldered Two wires to the hole in the mother board for both positive and negative, one goes into the now rewired adapter, andother to screen.

I soldered the positive to the V+ spot.
And negative to the V- spot. Is that correct?

I just soldered it like that, and then...nothing, btw, I didn;t have the disc drive plugged in or on the system at all when I Turned it on, is something wrong.

all you must do is connect video out to video in and connect ground to ground. And power in whatever manner you wish

But are my corrections correct, and did I solder to the right spot. CHECK YOUR SCREENS PEOPLE (The back of them), also, do I need to add a switch to the PSONE screen or something...and my portable is NOT a PSX(one).

The spots labeled V+ and V- on the psone screen board are for volume (+/-). From your power source you want the positive side to go to the pad labeled 7.5V and the negative side (0V) to go to GND.

^ Yup. And if you still have trouble after that, you might have a screen that needs 5V attached to that one pin to turn on. It's in the sticky if you need it.

guess you won't know till you get it hooked up correctly and try it out. I would think that your sound might have been damaged, but I would have to assume that whoever designed the screen would have put in some basic circuit protection.
