I adjusted and adjusted and adjusted by teeny tiny increments, and nothing would get it to work. Sure, I got it to work much worse, but no better. So I turned the pot back to its original position. Same deal as before. Then I suddenly realized it probably wasn't the laser at all, seeing as I made sure the lense hadn't been scratched at all.
I thought, hmm, perhaps it's because the laser assembly has to move up and down vertically. Click the link above and look at the back to see what I mean. So instead of holding it with the back down, to load, I simply held it sideways, and it loaded fine. Appearently moving up and down is just too much work for the thing.
I don't suppose there's anything I can do about this, is there? I mean, when I put it into its new case, it will be a non-issue. But until then, I guess I'll have to play laying down.
