Xbox FTP

Post by Harshboy »

Ok, before i reset my computer (like 1 month ago) I had trouble FTPing to my Xbox, but then my Uncle helped me and got it to work. So now, i try to FTP to my xbox following directions from here: http://webpages.charter.net/modchipzone ... blem.htm#r and it wont work. It does connect however, the last line sais: Error: Could not retrieve directory listing. I've tried the Router way, and the Crossover way, and both result in that. I'm Using Filezilla right now. Would it make a difference if i used FlashFXP? Please help. And don't tell me to ask my uncle, because i can't now. Something happend and he ran away and no-one knows where he is.....and whats bad is he is the only person in my family who know electronics (well, besides me :P )

EDIT: Tried FlashFXP, it sais: Conecting.....(Connection refused)

So it connects, but my Xbox wont allow it.........so whats going on!? I really need help.

It's a softmod thing. How do you have the xbox set up?
Shhh! I'm not officially back yet.

I'm guessing you have it hooked up right? To a switch?

Find the IP address of the Xbox, which should be on the evoX menu. Then punch that in on the FLASHFXP, but with ftp:// or ftp. in front of it. Username and Password defaults are set to xbox, and xbox.

I did that....ok, Heres my IP setup:

PC specs:

IP: 192.168.0.4
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.3

Xbox specs:

IP: 192.168.0.3
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.4

This is my crossover cable setup on my second Ethernet Card (I have 2, this one's Network IP is: 192.168.0.4, my first ones Network IP is: 192.168.1.1)

AHA! Leave default gateway blank on the PC's side. (atleast, that's how it is for PSOExploit on GC...)

"connection refused" dosent necessarily mean anything was ever connected... i dont think.

check that your crossover cable works. or your switch
try using your first network card (which one is the ftp program using? how can you tell?)
any new firewalls?
