Does anyone understand how the LCD voltage requirements work? Can you just add the power supply to it or do you have to run them through a circuit first? I have a Sharp 3L-U8E screen and it requires 8V so could I just supply it with 8V and have it power up?
It was a good deal on ebay but I shoudl have went with a Portable TV. (
Seems a straight 8 volts will be fine. Consumes 3.2 watts so your power supply will need to be capable of supporting 400mA (of course an LED conversion will make it much less!)
I've often found if people spend less time worrying about what someone the other side of the world has posted on an internet forum and more time getting laid, they'll be a lot less tense.
Not to sound like a complete fool, but what would I have to conenct up to get the LCD working? So far I connected up the power and I get it to light up but I have no idea how I woudl wire up the Composite Video source. Do you just need it's signal and ground or woudl you have to ground out every other source on the schematic that needs ground?
first off 400 mA isnt that much. Just connect composite wire to composite in on your LCD and connect the grounding outer wireing to the any ground on the LCD
Well I connected the power (combined all the 8V+) to the same source and I get a lit up grey screen. then when I attached the composite video signal I get nothing... Unless it's the wrong pin or maybe I need to boost my video signal as the NES in ben's book needed. I tried using the straight out source from the radica but maybe it needs to be amlpified and I shoudl have used the actual RCA jack as my source feed.
I've hooked it all up and I get a Video image and the backlight lamp is working but the actual screen image itself is very dark... Am I missing a power source somewhere?
edit: yes, there is. give pin A22 about 3v (no more than 4). this is from the datasheet . page 7. theres some other adjustments it looks like you should set.
