removing cartridges
What's the best way to remove a Sega genisis v.1 (or whatever) cartridge slot? Because I have no clue on any of that stuff

Desoldering wick is a faberic and brass (or copper) braid. It's used to draw away or absorbe the solder as you melt it. You can buy it at any eletronics store.
Me personally when it comes to cart slots, get a desoldering iron. It's an attachment, that you use to suck the melted solder up with. It's easier to use and gets the solder out better, well in my experiance it has. Buy at same places as the wick.
