removing cartridges

What's the best way to remove a Sega genisis v.1 (or whatever) cartridge slot? Because I have no clue on any of that stuff

Desoldering wick is a faberic and brass (or copper) braid. It's used to draw away or absorbe the solder as you melt it. You can buy it at any eletronics store.

Me personally when it comes to cart slots, get a desoldering iron. It's an attachment, that you use to suck the melted solder up with. It's easier to use and gets the solder out better, well in my experiance it has. Buy at same places as the wick.

I went to any computer tech shop, and I got some IDE cable (circa 1995) for aboot...1$, and that was like 5'!

try goodwill stores i picked up a bunch of IDE Cables with cart ports for like a buck a piece

This was the goodwill outlet in Charleston SC

Oh... I see, maybe office max or some other tech shop near me will have it... If not (about 40% chance) will resort to goodwill... there's no goodwill stores by me
