Ok, I just ordered this thing!

My original, full sized NES board portable was a failure. But I ordered this. If anyone has ever seen it before, help me. I believe it has a NOAC. But I have questions. Firstly, will original NES controllers work on it? And can you give me some info on the inside to help me, since this is my second portable ever, one not even working....

Thats a yobo noac and yes it does use original controllers I believe.

It's the same as any other NOAC and has an american 72 pin American cartridge.

That's a bit of a weird statement. There are tons of different NOACs. Some are better than others. For example, mine is pretty much flawless in all aspects. Plays Castlevania 3 no problem, though some others do not. Gametech in Japan used to sell the same model as the one I've got, and then picked up the Yobo NeoFami, which I believe is actually less compatible :/
In short, be careful about blanket statements about NOACs -- their quality is highly inconsistent (since most of them are hand-soldered in sweatshops in China), and the technology in them varies.

If anybody else wants to buy one of these, check your local Game-X-Change (or wahtever you have) stores. Mine just started carrying these (for a decent price even), and with buying at the store you don't have to worry about shipping.

I think the "USA Version" which you have pictured actually takes American NES controllers.

Thats how I got mine; there was a Game X-Change near my cousins college and he picked it up for me. Great machine, except mine doesn't seem to be compatible with Roadblasters.

Mine isn't compatible with Mighty Final Fight and Rampage; but since it's so small it's still great for protablizing despite it's less than 100% compatibility.

I just ordered contra and metroid. They better be compatible.
Oh, and original controllers are hard to stuff in that freaking thing.
And thirdly, the portable is about done, I even built in the controller, leaving the controller port open in case ya don't wanna use the internal one, or it shakes to much when you do use it for player two to see. And it has an external DC and AV port in case you wanna plug it in or use a big TV. I don't have the stuff to post pics though.
