An addictive game, and Thrifty purchase.

I promise anyone who plays it, they will at least be slightly addicted to it. GUITAR HERO. I heard it's name thrown around once in a while, but when I saw it at Best Buy, I just had to play it. (I don't get out often.)


Eh, $70 isn't really that bad for a game with a special controller, but I'm far too poor to afford it, and my bro took the PS2 with him to college.

Well, I went to EB Games, picked up Omega Boost for $1.96, and ripped it to a disk image to play on ePSXe.

Overall, a pretty good day.

(PS: I don't know why I wrote this, I'm just bored. Woo!)

This confuses me. Why would you want to play it on your computer? Is it full-speed? Because I haven't been able to ever run a PS game at close to full-speed...

Netplay (Well, not Internet, Network for me, 28.8Kbps, ACK!)

Very badly damaged discs, when slowly ripped, can work again! (The Unholy War, Has scratches the size of the Erie Canal, ripped and workin' again)

FSAA & Anistropic Filtering (Makes the games look a lot better)

Most of all, 1024x768x32bit resolution, beats the hell outta ol' fashion NTSC.

Speed limitations are still there, the hardware only performs so fast. (Battletanx: Global Assault still has crap speed.)

And there's that all-around good feeling you get from being able to emulate an older game and bring it back to life.

(By the way, I gots me one of those PSX->USB adaptors, so I can use my bling-bling invincible PSX controllers on my PC, not those numerous crappy Gravis pads that break after 3 days.)

I know, I love it, if only I still had the PS2. The whole Frequency-esque beat GUI is awesome, and playing the classics is cool without saying. The first things I had to play were Ziggy Stardust and Killer Queen.

Heh, Take Me Out was also pretty cool.

While I was waiting to play it, there were 2 little kids attempting to play it, and they looked completely spastic, like they were having a video-game enhanced seizure. Needless to say, they weren't hitting any of the notes.

Kids who try to play at Console Kiosks should be euthanized.

My question is, how does it play in forms of difficulty. Do the colors come so fast that your fingers lose traction in button pushing prowess? Nevertheless, do you doze off memorizing which button plays to which finger...I get lightheaded in DDr sometimes. Well, my questions.

Well, there are 4 difficulties: Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert.

There are 5 fret buttons.

On Easy: You use the first 3 fret buttons.
On Medium: You use the first 4 fret buttons.
On Hard: You use all 5 fret buttons.
On Expert: You use all 5 fret buttons.

On Easy: 16th notes taken out, slow.
On Medium: 32nd notes taken out, not to slow.
On Hard: No notes taken out, but not as hard as Expert.
On Expert: No notes taken out. When there is a solo in the song, you almost play all of the notes, requiring pulloffs and hammerons.

I've played that game with my friends at EB Games. It's pretty cool. I had a hard time at first adjusting to pressing down the right places and then strumming. As you can tell, I'm not a guitar player.

I got it, and am an expert ...I've beaten Bark at the Moon on expert a few times, and man is it hard!

every other song I can beat every time, on expert. It's a really fun game, though , and well worth the $70 it costs...more songs would've been nice, but that's why there'll be a second one!

Great game. I played it at EB while some lady was talking to her husband about how she should buy it for their kid, which was very distracting considering the volume was set way to low already and I couldn't hear the music with her talking. So I kinda sucked at it then, but I think I would be good at it since I play acoustic guitar (a real one ) pretty well. Seems like, if anything, it would be easier.

ill bet you even if you play guitar its not easy on difficult (hence the difficult). its really hard with 5 buttons and going crazy fast.
