Megadrive won't boot

Two days ago I cut away the cooler of my board along with some things I wasn't supossed to cut away. So I just reconnected those things with wires. I did half and tried it out the only problem was that there was no sound. So yesterday I completed the connections and today I tested them only to find out that my sega didn't work! The led won't even light up! The tracks I cut away are the ones just in front of where the cooler usely is. Can somebody tell me what they do so I can fix my sega. It would be too bad if my whole board was screwed up because I have been working on it for several months now...
