My NESp format. Will it work?

Post by Klefmung »

I was reading the book, and decided that I didn't feel like doing all of that crap, and sought a different approach! what I am gonna do is use the original controller hardware, but put a wire to the tact switches of the buttons, putting them on the pc board at side, just for something solid. This will be saudered from the ic directly to the wires going into the port that hooks from the controller port to the motherboard. I will then wire the simple regulator and video enhancer circuits, wiring the video in on the PSOne screen directly to the video out on the NES. Will it work?

I think thats what you meant, and if it is, that'll work.

Ok, What I did was I hooked the 7805 regulator into the ground and the +5 volts spot on the board. I then spliced into my 9.6 volt Ni-Mh battery. I spliced the positive wire going to the recharger into a SPST switch, the other terminal leading to the unregulated power in on the regulator. then I connected the negative to the ground. After that, I made the video amplifier circuit specified in the book and hooked it to the video in inside of the psone screen. I hooked in the PSone screen into the wall using the psone screen adapter, and I put the battery charger in the wall, flipped the switch with a cartridge in there, but no dice. >_< Help! but is this the video in wire in the PSOne screen, correct?

First suggestion:
Dont hook that Psone screen to the 9.6V battery, I think that'll fry it. (somebody correct me on that) and hook it up to a TV.

I was using the adapter to the wall with the psone screen at the time. and I am using a full sized NES board. I was just seeing if it worked. Which it didn't. >_>; I hadn't hooked the screen with batteries once, it was powered with the AC adapter that came with it.

That uses three extra wires. You can just wire a single ground wire around to all four of them in the middle of the D-pad, and then keep the other wires as outer connections for the individual buttons. Just a thought since space is generally a concern :) (If you're wondering how to get a single wire around to all four buttons, think the Fantastic Four logo.)
