Repairning snes mini
Ok so I win a mini snes on ebay for only $11.00. Title said used mint condition, I assumed that this meant it worked. Stupid me forgot to read the fine print saying that it didn't work. So it's not the end of the world, I'm pretty good with electronics, I could probibaly fix it. Look inside, everything looks ok but when I plug it in, all I get is black with white bars moving across the screen. So nothing's wrong with the power and I get the bars if there is a game in it or not. So if you have any suggestions, please tell me.

Whats wrong with bold print? There was some kind of white stuff on the bottom of the mobo, I took that off with a toothbrush. Another odd thing. The screws at the bottom weren't the normal nintendo screws but normal phillips and one screw was covered by a sticker. So it appears to be a refurbished system, I don't know if that means anything
Cant say I know much about mini snes as I live in England and Nintendo never got around to release it over hear, but I am going to take a guess that someone was messing around with the lockout chip to try to make it all region or drop it down to 60mhz. When I modded my pal snes to play ntsc games I did it wrong and I got a black screen with white lines. Take the pcd totaly out and see if there are any wires under it. If not check all the pins and make sure there not tuching. If not I dunno what you should do lol.
Check http://gamesx.com/, under the "Playing Imports" section last 4 or 5. This should help you get your SNES working and running PAL, Euro or change the Hertz rating.
Good luck, hope you get it working.
