nes at game store

hi this is my first post here. i was at my local used game store when i found an original nintendo. but unfortunatly it was broken. i opened up the lid and found two cartridges and thought this was surprising. so i asked what happened and they said that you had to put two cartridges to play and i thought maybe that theres something wrong with the slot and could be fixed like in ben's book with the pin. should i buy it and try to fix the cartridge slot?

take the games out, clean the connector with rubbin alcohol, and try a cart

Clean it out or check if anything's somehow shorting out. You may have to rewire some things along with the cart slot.

Does the game stick down without the extra cart holding it down? If not the front middel screw on the bottom of the case is too tight I think. Sound like its just a bad connector though.

I've bought 12 NESs and I've fixed them all and you just need to clean them

YES!! i fixed it!!! thank you everyone for your advice it turned out the connector was a little off so it was easy to fix. once again thank you everyone!
