Yes, another "Does anyone" thread by Fanboy! This is a thread asking, "Does anyone here ever write stories in their spare time?" I do, and was wondering if anyone here shared that interset... Post your best work!

I'm in the process of writing about the DK 1100 - Eastern Europe's transport for the masses.
The basic idea is that due to a new international trading law, all integrated circuits, silicon, transistors etc etc as well as car speedometers, radiators etc have been banned for use in cars except for car manufacturers who can afford a very expensive (a few billion) special licence to use them. Naturally, this results in car prices being very expensive.
However, the DK 1100 is a very cheap car. How? The engine management system is built out of valves/tubes! It has a Nixie Tube speedometer (even LEDs are banned!) and a rear mounted V3 air-cooled engine (in-line 3, in-line 4, flat 4, in-line 6, flat 6, V6, V8, in-line 8 cylinder engines are all banned!)
Quite mad really but it follows how the DK 1100 has a lot of enthusiasts, people who modify them, car shows dedicated to them - you know, a bit like the VW Beetle....

I've often found if people spend less time worrying about what someone the other side of the world has posted on an internet forum and more time getting laid, they'll be a lot less tense.

My VW Bug is about to get a Nixie tube rev counter. For the high voltage I'm using an inverter going through a rectifier for DC. I've replaced the two Binary to 7 segment driver chips with Binary to decimal chips so the output produced is 1-10. Attach each output pin to a suitable transistor and attach each transistor to the corresponding Nixie terminal and that's that.
