Exactly as the subject says, How have you guys set up the heatsinks so that they are pressed against the ic's? I just need a few suggestions because i'm not sure how much presure they actually need.

You need firm pressure, but not REALLY hard, since you could crack the chip. Take the example from liquid cooling manufacturers for video cards. They use a thin metal strip that is pressed down on the waterblock to have it make contact with the die. You could also use heat paste, which will work well and won't require screws or pressure.
