The great SNK is dead but Playmore bought the rights to them. That is why the NeoGeo doesn't get any more new games. Playmore chose the Atomiswave as the next best thing. I don't know to much about the Atomiswave tough so this is my help.

The atomiswave is made by sammy, or American Sammy in the USA. It is simmilar in concept to the NEO GEO, but financially it has been a little weak. The only good games I have actually played on the Atomiswave are gun games. If you go to an arcade and see a cheesy looking gun game that says its made by sammy and it looks new, chances are its an atomiswave. They are not too bad pricewise, if you get one new, since most arcade owners are not making a whole ton of money on them yet. Metal Slug 6 should change that... hehe!
Emulation isn't accurate. There is no substitute for real hardware!

if I recall it was based on the Sega's Naomi (a colaboration), but without most of the power. I was looking at it for an upgrade for my mvs cab for a while, but I think the sega would really be worth the extra if for no other reason than the pure volume of games out for it.

guilty gear x is the big game on Atomiswave IMO. It was more than decent and it's okay power wise. We can expect most of the snk games to be on it for the next few years. No, I don't know why they just didn't do naomi... maybe because it's 'crazy old snk'.

if you buy one, don't expect too many games for it and count on a lot of expensive hardware addons.
