Vaccum form case questions

I have a few questions about making a vaccum formed case.

1. What kind of plastic is best?

2. How do I create a mold that when all is said and done, and the case is made that I can put the pieces back together to build my case? In other words, how do I make a case thats going to have the little pieces for mounting stuff in both halves?

Answers would really be appreciated. I think I can have my SNES portable done by mid January if all goes right. I'm broke right now so I can't do anything with it at the moment, but I really want to begin work on my case over christmas break.

Be more specific, and clay was what I was going to use for both halves, but what I mean is how do I make a clay mold that when it's been formed that the mounting pegs will be there?

That'll help but it's not what I was asking about, I was asking how do I make it so I'll have something to mount the various pieces of the system to. If I just form the case I'm not going to have a place to actually put the system.

When vacumm forming your making the shape for the outside. Figure out the dementions of the mobo, screen, cart slot/cd clearence, and after you have all that done you shape the clay the way you want the case to look (exterior), so the interior of the plastic will be hollow and you should have enough room if you measured and calculated everything right.

Since vacuum forming only creates a shell, you'll have to glue in mounts after you form the case.

Well finally somebody understands the question. Thanks, I kinda figured as much. Now what kind of glue should I use to withstand daily constant abuse?

I'd say superglue, or epoxy. I'm sure Jack will be through and tell you about some adhesive thats never failed.

I wouild be delighted SparkFist JB Weld epoxy is the Best "glue" but using screw posts make it so you can open it up if it breaks

He was asking what adhesive to use to mount the stalls that will take the screws and hold the case togethter, I mentiond you have something as you always mention some type of premuim glue that you use when making acrilic cases.

Well inn that m,atter RTV Slicone is goo dbut epoxy is a lot stronger I use RTV when I would use HOtGlue cause its better
