i guess if you wanted an "XP box" You could buy a gutted xbox case and put your pc in it......it's been done several times. And a good thing is, since the xbox has a dvd and a harddrive, you might be able to use the trays(those black things that put the dvd and hard drive above the motherboard. Also if you can find xbox controller ports, you could mod them to plug into two usb ports and then make usb adapters to plug into the xbox ports....sure the cost would go up buy maybe 20 bucks, but it would look cool. PS: The xbox to USB adapter is really easy to make, strip the usb coard and connect the colors to the controler port wires...just remember " Yellow sux, so make it go to dust!" or in an understandable way, I mean "The yellow wire isnt needed, it can just go die!"

CPU: $85.00
Motherboard: $46.00
Hard-drive: 80GB $56.00, 250GB $130.00
RAM: 512MB $37.49
Video card: 8MB $15.00, 256MB 79.00
DVD/CD Burners: $49.00
Outside case: $31.99
Cooling Fan: $11.99
i can get a cpu and a mobo for only 80 bucks alone (celeron 2.8ghz) or for the same price cpu and mobo (sempron 2800+ i think.) so that s rip off. the hd is so much cheaper too and the case - you can get one for around 18 bucks for a plain beige one. your better off buying a old computer from a store for around 300 bucks. try a company named PowerSpec. good computers, really cheap prices.

i have some xbox cases laying around so just for fun i built a computer in it (i have like an unlimited supply of parts...lol) What i did was take 2 tops and cut the sides off one and hinge it to the other one.......then i put the mobo in and just continued with the other parts. It's got a dvd drive, 384 MB ram, 1 ghz....pretty good........it's also got a composite video out on the mobo so it's hooked up to the TV, it runs Windows 98 SE but i'm going to install XP Home on it soon when i get time........so yeah, sorry if i boared you.....

to you. pm him if you need the pics, paul. don't bring up really old threads.

I'm gonna lock this, but if you ever decide to continue your project, Thornwillow, just PM me, Black 6, or gannon and one of use will unlock it for you.

If anyone is building one of these, just start a new thread.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!
