Mouse on Xbox?

I didn't know where else to put this thread. If it's in the wrong forum, I appologize.

I can find PS/2 to Xbox converters on ebay. Anyone ever try building one? Know what sort of work goes into?

Also, what about USB mice? I know the Xbox controller cord IS a usb cord, just with a different connector (example: I modifyed a controller extension cord so I can use the controller on my PC). I have a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer. If I were to splice in a Xbox controller cord, would the Xbox recognize the mouse's driver? I doubt it. I believe the 360 is capable of it, but I doubt the Xbox is.

Any thoughts? I've read where people had ideas of modifying an xbox controller to accept mouse inputs, but I don't know if they ever succeeded.

I just want to prove to my console-gaming relatives that I could easily kick their ass at Halo 2 (etc.) if I had a mouse. I'm a PC gamer, you see.

I've spent too much on my damned PSOneP to be able to afford to actually buy a converter.

Yes. I know. That's what I was referring to when I said "I can find PS/2 to Xbox converters on ebay."

But I'd rather build something. More fun. Less money.

You'll need a chip to convert the signals over to XBox gamepad signals, unless a particular game has mouse support(none do AFAIK), and that chip and the way to program it would likely cost more than the prebuilt converter.

Well, I used my old mouse as and xbox mouse (just twined the cables, color coded) and it recognized it. Then again I was using evoX... What are you using the mouse for? To move/look around?

I don't know if they still do this but for the PSO game Microsoft was giving out Xbox > USB converters, they go right in the memory card slot in the controller. Shipping for me was $6, but if you're the person that wants a USB port and have it look professional then that is one of the ways to go.

And to clear things up. The Xbox uses USB 1.1 connections. The only difference is that they added a 5th wire, why only Bill knows why, something think for a light pen, something think for the sake of making the connector proprietary.
