See congress could easilly be done away with, like Ceasar did with his co-consul to make the Empire. If half of Congress is gone suddenly the system crumbles and we will be left in shambles, and someone will take power.

But that comes under the assumption that the "checks and balances" our founding fathers institued are done away with. The only way that can be remotely possible is during war (like country to country) where the President is given more control. But then it's termperary, like only til a treaty or surender is signed.

Ceasar did something simalar where he was given total authority during a war and instead of giving it up he used the militart/army to enforce his control. Not the case here though, like I said the President only gets that authority for a specific time period. Other then that, no new laws can be made without the 66% agreement of Congress on the second pass, on the first pass it needs the President's signiture, and those laws are interuperted by the Suprem Court.

Again neither is more powerful then the other so we don't have a imbalace of power.

hmm this one was a tough one for me, id finially went with yes.

Some of the US Governments actions and motives are quite ambitious, and looking like they want to police the world, or at least everyone does what they tell them. However this is an exagerated view of things but it has its basis in fact.

This could be achievable but the US if they didnt have absolutely abismal forgein policy. Mostly throughout history various american governments havent exactly had the best policies towards foriegn powers and conflicts.

The most recent of these would be the whole CIA training the taliban and America suppling Saddam against Iran.

One thing that does amuse me is at the end of Rambo III (i think) it says something like:

"This film was dedicated the galant freedom fighter of Afghanistan"

"Freedom fighter"? i believe they're called terrorists these days...

Well Extreme Jesus, that was during the Regon administration. Their key policy when it came to involvement in the Afganistan and Iraq-Iran confilicts were; lesser to two evils. At the time the Soviets were our enemies and stopping them was our objective, so we trained and armed the natives. With the Iraq and Iran thing, Iran had really tickd us off with the taking of U.S. citizens as hostiges and Saddam wasn't the power thristy mass murdering psycho he is today.

Views changes and that's one thing you need to keep in mind when your doing this paper. It's not going to be as clear if you view what the Romans did 1600 years ago from the perspective we have now.
