I'm bored, so I decided to start this thread to ask who is doing any portables at the time and what they are. Some pics of your latest work would be nice.(BTW, if something like this was already posted somewhere else, I apologize because I was too lazy to read on).

To start this off, I am thinking about starting a Ps1 portable with a 5-inch Inter-act ps1 screen.(sorry, no pics because no digital camera).

Im making a NESP. It is going to be a remake of G-forces and All4Skyies. Im gonna try to read up on some NOAC mods so it mite be kind of better then theres

I cant show pics now because it is too late and I dont know where my moms camera is.

That sounds pretty cool. After all, the console wars are mainly about who can improve on what the other consoles did wrong. If you look at the Dreamcast which failed; and the Xbox side by side you'll see that there isn't much difference between the designs. This is mostly due to the fact that Microsoft bought out Sega(those @&*holes)

At this very moment I'm building a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive portable from a Radica Genesis on a chip. Unfortunatly my digi camera is broken so no pics at the moment.

The case is a surplus portable instrument case unused dating from the 1970's (picked up a bunch of these at auction very cheap!). It measures 7.5 inch long by about 4.5 inch wide and 1.5 inch deep. The case works very well too as it's a textured black plastic and designed for adult sided hands.

The display housing is moulded into the case and angled about 45 degrees and fits a 2.5 inch TFT screen perfectly! (was designed to house a huge LED display). The angle of the screen makes playing the thing very comfortable (no tilting until the screen brightness seems right!)

Having major problems with the buttons. Was going to use the guts from an old joypad but the plastic is so thick the buttons are too shallow! Was thinking of cutting out the keypad area and fitting a sheet of aluminium or a thinner bit of plastic. Might just resort to fitting push buttons as soon as I can find some I like.

Gonna be powered by 8 AA Ni-Mh rechargable batteries. Biggest problem I'm having here is the screen needs 8-10 volts, the Sega needs 6 volts and I don't have any resistors big enough to cope with the voltage drop for the Sega. Been thinking about connecting the Sega to the middle of the battery pack so it only picks up 6 volts but I don't know how this'll affect battery life - anyone have any ideas/knowledge on this?

an n64 portable
..trying to determine which plug, I can acquire, would make a good port to connect one of many external battery sources.. (PM me or post in my thread in the n64 section if you have an idea for me)
..designing a case (looks like it might be more square than a rectangle, darn)
..finding a decent spot for the controller
..and trying to find a decent heatsink, in town, can't afford to order anything else online..

if the above one works, when I'm done I also have parts to start a new secret portable.. its gonna be sweet.. a laptop style portable built into a metal briefcase.. going to be liked by both retro fans and graphic fanboys.. designs for the setup are already finished, Its gonna be sweet.. but I'm not starting it untill my n64 is finished.. have to wait to find work to acquire a few expensive things I need to go with it..

Currently putting off working on an snes (possibly fried). I'm actually working hard on a portable atari, which works with regular tvs, but I'm having a hard time getting a picture on an lcd (I used ben's composite mod). It's currently housed in a cardboard box for stability while I test everything out

It actually looks kinda cool like that...

i'm working on a N64p but i'm having some screen problems that i havn't gotten around to fixing yet. hopefully it'll be done witin a month (maybe a few weeks). i put a mock-up on my site but i'm in school now so i can't post it here. next one i'm doing is ps1p

im making my snesp mkII 6Amp lipoly batts very compact, relocated cart slot, and a wicked ha'd coore case, that uses the squishy pads, no tact switches. the only problem i am having is no sound and juzcrn isnt responding to my emails anymore for the hipgear part
