Which one?
Ok I have something to debate about again. Which atari computer should I get? The Atari 400 or The Atari 800? Im not making it portable. I just want to have one. But you must know........ This is my first Atari computer.I know your thinking "Oh what a loser! Who hasent had/have an Atari Computer?!?!?!" Well I know I would have bought one if I was alive then. Im only 11 years old. But I think atari is one of the best video game companies ever! So when you guys help me think of one that is like a starter for me.
Well it would be best to get an XL or XE model, but if you want to get the original the 800.
The Atari 800 is better then the 400 in ram (base) and expansion. It also has a real keyboard, well the 400 has a plastic membrane. And the 800 is bigger inside so any of the mods like myIDE you can up the hard drive inside the case.

slightly offtopic but an interesting fact nonetheless:
I once heard that the Atari 2600 components weren't designed to last much longer than about 10 years... boy, they did better than that

id say a 1040ST but then again its the only one ive ever had
I havent had the grace of using/playing any of the 8-bit atari computers but ive recently been playing the ST and getting a kick out of it
If you do get an ST you HAVE to get hold of Pang and Wizball, its like a law
, damn good games though
