Rethinking my avatar

Post by loup »

Having accidentally double posted a couple of times already today I've become quite aware, looking at my avatar, how annoying the animation is. I don't think the specific animation is that bad, I just think animation in an avatar is annoying.

But then again, when I originally made the avatar, it was a lot of work for me.

For anyone that cares to know where it's from, the little guy is Bill from a game called Bill the Demon that was made for the Macintosh several years ago. I think the developer made a flash version of it that can be played from his website now.

should I keep the animated avatar, or should I just pick one frame from it (I'm thinking the last one, where he's grinning and blood is dripping from his mouth.)

I don't have a problem with your avatar. :)
Life is a lot like a video game without the extra lives and continues.

Keep it. I like animated avatars*, as you really only notice it if you watch it.

* <--As you can see :P

I make all of mine, at least to an extent. I have made all sorts of versions of the classic Jesus-Hulk from the episode of Family Guy where Mr. Weed chokes on a dinner roll and dies... Everything from a holiday version to the one-day-only New Years model, now in bright shiny photo-realism! What's next? who knows... maybe it will be random... maybe it will be like the jellied-looking icons from SuSE... only time will tell... :twisted:

\/ Animated sigs can be nice too, as long as the animation is short and the file size is reasonable. (If you see a static image, don't worry it's a random image script. Just refresh until you see animatedness. :P)

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Pacman, not to praise him;
The evil that men do lives after them,
The good is oft interréd with their bones,
So let it be with Pacman….
See? Even Mark Antony didn't like him. And he's ub3r 1337

Eh, Mark was ok...Hamlet was waaay 13373r...

To Pac, Or Not to Pac, there is no question
Tis nobler in the mind to burry this rotten peice of fodder
Than suffer the slings and arrows outrageously bad game-making heaves your way...

WOAH! Did I miss something? I mean, the Gray circle was strange enough Luc. You've lost Watterson's respect.
