Desoldering Issues with the RF box thingy

I think it is the RF box. It is the first thing the book calls to remove in the NES section of the book.

You could just try getting the solder hot and then using a solder-sucker or a solder braid (both can be found at basically any electronics store). But that poses a problem: If you hold your soldering iron there too long, It could damage a component or the board. Another thing is you could find a more narrow tip.

When I desodered the RF box on my NESp, I sucked up as much soder as possible with my desodering iron. When I had gotten as much as I could, I used my sodering iron to heat up the remaining soder and used a flat head screwdriver to pry the RF box off of the board.

When prying, be sure not to pry the box too hard, because you may damage the board. I used a twisting motion once I got the tip of the screwdriver under the box. It worked great too until I fried my screen.

yes this is probaly the hardest thing to do on a NES
like j said suck up as much as possible then i used pliers to wiggle the tabs out
